I would like to recognize our AMAZING AVERIE for taking swift action when one of our patient's hearing aids was accidentally dropped and stopped working. Averie took the time to reach out to our Patient Relations Specialist right away to arrange a way to get this patient's hearing aid fixed. After this, she gathered the model and serial numbers of the patient's hearing aid and found out where he had obtained it from. She called the Audiology clinic at the Flagstaff VA and left a voicemail for the Audiology Tech. After no response, she called again and bugged them until she was able to speak with their Audiologist on staff. The Audiologist stated that the patient's hearing aid was under warranty and the piece that broke was an easily replaceable part, covered by the warranty! The patient would not have any cost for repair or replacement, but the pieces would have to be brought to the Flagstaff VA so they could get started on a quick repair. The problem was that the patient had no one local who could take the pieces to the VA and the patient was still going to be admitted for several days, so Averie volunteered to take them over to the VA for the patient! Averie took the pieces to the VA and the hearing aid was repaired quickly. Averie then picked up the hearing aid when it was ready and delivered it back to the patient, ON HER DAY OFF! This is only one of many ways that Averie exemplifies our values on a daily basis! She adds great value to our team and our organization and I am so grateful to have her on my team and part of the 2 East family!
