Our recipient this year has stood by us all and guided us to become the skilled nurses we are today. She has offered us a safe space to make mistakes and learn from them, no matter how terrifying or embarrassing they might have felt. She has inspired us all to go after the nursing specialty that calls us, no matter what anyone else has said. There were even times she knew us better than we knew ourselves and made sure to present unique opportunities for us to grow and explore diverse nursing options we didn't know we would enjoy until experiencing them. She has put in countless hours setting up our simulations making sure they test our critical thinking skills while still being fun and enjoyable. It is with great pleasure to present The DAISY Award to Dr. Westbury.
