Nancy is the supervisor of Pre-Admission Testing Coordination Hub. In this role, she supervises a team of nurses who manage pre-procedural covid testing. Nancy continually demonstrates Seattle Children's values and patient-centered care on a daily basis. She has gone above and beyond for patients and always takes a wholistic approach in everything she does to ensure that the needs of the patient/family are being met.

Nancy has been the reason why PATCH works so smoothly and why we have been such a successful new unit at Seattle Children's Hospital. Nancy has taught nurses in PATCH to look at patients holistically in order to provide appropriate care. In a recent situation, I was coordinating a case for a patient to come in for a procedure after being COVID positive. Nancy had me stop and think about the situation and dig deeper to find out what else the patient could need before their procedure. We identified that the patient may need blood products and pre-procedural labs, so Nancy had me escalate this in order for the patient to have their procedure the next day. If this was not caught, this would have led to delays in surgery schedule or even cancelation of the procedure. This is only a small example of the way that Nancy puts the patient first and provides exceptional care to the pediatric population and such a huge role in COVID management.

Nancy has been an important member in developing workflows and policies and has shown me how dedicated a person can be. Our unit would not be as successful as it is without the guidance of Nancy and we all truly appreciate how amazing of a nurse she is.
