Kristi is an amazing nurse and asset to our unit. She is always a team player and when able will help out the unit with whatever it needs. The instance that made me want to recognize her is one specific example of how much of a team player she is and her devotion to our unit. I was coming on as the charge nurse on a night shift and she was giving report to the oncoming nurse on a labor patient. Shortly after report, the doctor called a c-section due to non-reassuring fetal heart tones. Kristi stayed almost 2 hours past her shift to help with the patient and c-section. We had to do this surgery in the main OR and Kristi wanted to come down with us to make sure we knew where everything was and how she and the day charge nurse set it up. When we got down there, there were some items missing and Kristi went back and forth from the Birthing Center (on the 5h floor) to the main OR (1st floor) at least 4 times and probably more than that. If she had not stayed to make sure we were straight and prepared, we would not have been able to proceed with the surgery as quickly as we did. She went above and beyond her shift to help us and the patient and I am forever grateful for her!
