Her intelligence, compassion, and ability to foresee and act on each aspect of care were phenomenal.
I had surgery in April 2022 and had the immense luck of having Gabby as my nurse for two days during my stay. As a nurse myself, I thought I’d know what to expect during an inpatient stay – but really, I did not. Gabby anticipated my needs, even the smallest of needs. She noticed I was itching my skin a little too much (even when I didn’t notice) and ordered me medicated lotion. I was worried about a medication interaction, and she promptly called the pharmacy and put my worries to rest. I forgot to order a side dish for my lunch and even though I was told it’s difficult to contact the kitchen to change orders, somehow Gabby did just that! I had a small medical issue that I didn’t think much of, but Gabby recognized it as a bigger issue and right away figured out what it was, then solved the issue and continued to closely monitor me. Even more, I was so very touched when my sister and I went outside for a walk (which Gabby kindly suggested) and came back to my bed not just made, but with all my personal pillows and blankets so sweetly set up for me courtesy of Gabby of course. Being in the hospital isn’t generally a pleasant experience, but Gabby made me feel so cared for as a patient and as a person. Her intelligence, compassion, and ability to foresee and act on each aspect of care were phenomenal. I am so impressed with her and hope you all are too! Thank you so much Gabby, I am so grateful for you.
