At the very end of a shift change Aaron walked into the room with a large empty plastic bag and emptied all the trash cans.
I went to your hospital's emergency room. Surgery to remove just under eight inches of my lower intestines was performed. I was in the hospital for seven days. First reason: I had blood drawn many times during my stay, and when Aaron, a night nurse, came in to draw blood, I knew it would be close to painless. He also had a way about him that made me feel calm and reassured at a time when I was apprehensive about my situation.

What really surprised me and the second reason for writing this letter was at the very end of a shift change Aaron walked into the room with a large empty plastic bag and emptied all the trash cans. When I asked him if he had two jobs, he said "I have a couple of extra minutes before I am due to leave, and the cleaning crew is overwhelmed, so I thought I would help." Wow! I'm sure he doesn't normally get an "atta boy," but at the time I wanted to cry, thinking about his concern for others. Many times, younger people Aaron's age think the world is all about them and what they should be given.
