Jennifer is the assistant clinical leader on 6 West. I will try to describe at best everything she does for the unit, our team, and our patients. She shows up every day expecting 110% or greater of herself and expects everyone else to show up the same way but willing to meet them where they are. I've watched her put everyone first. She kept the team humming in tune and notices when something is out of order. Jennifer is also one of the unit's best clinicians. She is there to advise and mentor. She's been a PCT, HUC, and a Housekeeper. She wears so many hats. When I was off for covid, she became leader of 6 West. The staff mentioned to me how grateful they felt checking on them and passing out water. The nurse stated that meant so much to her and she will not forget it. Jennifer is observed consistently going around the unit to check on the team. She's the timekeeper, scheduler, auditor, bedside nurse, and resource nurse all rolled into one. Jennifer is at the bedside at hand-off, hourly rounding, and talking with patients and family members, and all members of the care team to provide each patient with the highest quality of care. The 6 West team is forever grateful for all that she does. Her leadership meets all the values of Ascension.
