Philip was the night shift nurse for my neighbor who had fallen. He was reassuring, kind, helpful, and answered all our questions about the care and treatment of my friend, while still keeping his privacy in mind. My neighbor had a full recovery and continues to be independent to this day. All the nurses were incredible, but Philip was the one who spent time talking to, educating, and empathizing with my friend.

I was a patient on the third floor. I was having a terrible experience because I had unbearable pain which was difficult to manage. At change of shift, my husband was yelling at everyone due to frustration. Philip came in and firmly but calmly diffused the situation. He was so kind, patient, and knowledgeable about my situation, even though it was literally just the start of his shift. He escalated the situation and went up the chain of command. He got the charge nurse involved, then the nursing supervisor, then the anesthesiologist, and then the ICU doctor to come and help with my pain. He is a wonderful nurse and deserves to be recognized for his kindness.
