Thank you is just not enough to express my gratitude and appreciation for all the hard work and support you have given our team on rough staffing nights following no charge nurse in the day. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

You always show the responsibility to help other teammates. That is what we expect from a team leader. You always prove that you are a true leader. Always love to work with you. Thank you once again!!

She is so sweet and always says hi and how are you when I arrive on the unit. She remains calm on a hectic unit and when she is charge nurse everything runs smoothly. She is a level 4 on the clinical ladder which shows how she advances regarding professional practice. She is a role model and has extensive knowledge in the care of surgery oncology patients. She communicates well with other staff members and has taught the unit differences between tracheostomy and total laryngectomy care. During huddles, she explained the differences and created a chart for the staff to refer to. There are many safety factors between the two surgeries and this nominee wanted to make sure the highest quality care was provided.Tyrene excels in the area of patient care and collaboration. She cared for a patient with a globe fracture on left eye after falling and hitting their face on bed frame at home. The patient ended up getting her left eye enucleated after failing a few days on continuous eye drops. Postoperatively, this nurse cared for the patient and managed a hemorrhage from the surgical site. Using her critical thinking skills, she notified the team, helped apply a pressure dressing, and assisted in getting the patient back to the operating room. Tyrene is a preceptor for core staff, travelers, and students and is on the Nursing Peer Review Committee. Teamwork is very important to this nurse, and she said, "helping each other with our workload helps keep us from being overwhelmed and prevents errors." She donates money to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital to help provide care to children with cancer. Her contribution also helps the families with travel, housing, and food. I am honored to nominate her for The DAISY Award. The nominee demonstrates excellence through her clinical expertise and extraordinary compassionate care.
