I don't know what we would have done without Nurse Jill. My 19-year-old daughter had a baby last year. She has not had an easy time. She struggles with mental health and substance abuse problems. She does not like doctors and typically refuses to go to the hospital. She is ashamed and scared that she'll be judged. She says she gets treated differently and everyone looks at her. When she went into labor, I took her to the hospital. Jill was her triage nurse and made her feel at ease right away. My daughter is usually uncooperative but she trusted Nurse Jill. My daughter asked if Jill could be her labor nurse. She did and stayed with her until she had her baby. I could tell she was scared but she felt safe with her amazing nurse. She explained everything and comforted her. My daughter felt no judgement. Just compassion. She had an unplanned pregnancy, addiction, psychiatric issues. Most people don't want to be in the same room. Jill helped her through the entire process. She even helped me. I was so stressed about what would happen but she is such a great nurse and I never doubted that we were in good hands.

The next day, she came and visited us in our on the other unit. She gave my daughter a gift with the sweetest and most encouraging note. My daughter and grand baby are doing well. I don't think they would be doing as well without her labor nurses support and encouragement. She made her feel special and that she could be a good mother to her baby. I wish that more nurses could be like this. She changed my daughter's life in a positive way. I will never forget her and what she did for our family.
