I am nominating Dora Horovitz for this award for 2 overarching reasons: 1. She has developed numerous Epic tools that have resulted in positive outcomes for both patients and our program. Almost as soon as she started working with us, she developed a smart phrase for all of us to use in order to more easily assist our patients to establish in primary care. She looked up all the relevant community health centers and put them in a "PCP List" so that clinicians can choose the clinic(s) that may work best for our patients. I for one appreciate this list and use it weekly if not daily. Because we cannot provide primary care in our sexual health clinic, it increases the likelihood that our patients will get the care that they need that we cannot provide. Dora also recently developed a resource list for our LGBTQA+ patients who are considering parenthood. This not only allows us to provide even more inclusive care to all of our patients, but it also sets apart our Title X program by including those who do not identify as heterosexual. Dora never has to be asked to do such things, she diligently identifies these needs and volunteers to create these tools.

2. Dora is a beyond-excellent teacher. We have many learners come through our clinic from nursing students to prevention medicine residents as well as already-practicing clinicians who wish to learn more about sexual health services provision. Dora always strives to meet each learner where they are, shares appropriate resources based on their needs and is incredibly patient with each learner.

Here is a quote from one of our Preventive Medicine residents who spent many months in our clinic: "(Dora) showed true compassion for her patients with a warm presence, kindness, a non-judgmental attitude, and respect for confidentiality. She helped me tremendously with the clinic processes and never rolled her eyes when I asked, "Hey, Dora, do you have a minute?" She patiently walked me through EPIC, "smart phrases" and treatment protocols" I am incredibly grateful for Dora's calm and steady presence in our clinic, not to mention her collaborative spirit. I see her as a role model for myself and others in our clinic, and our patients benefit greatly from her focused hard work.
