We arrived in PICU on a Friday when our son suddenly needed an emergency procedure. Meghan was right there by his side the whole time, staying past her shift. She spent long hours making sure he was taken care of and doing charting after her shift before leaving. Meghan always made sure our son had the best care even reaching out to staff to check on him on her days off.

While we were here, it was my birthday and Meghan said we would celebrate. My birthday was her day off but she came in and surprised me with a cake and a balloon. That was something she did not have to do to make a parent’s birthday in the PICU better. This stay would not be half as positive and bearable without her.
