On Tuesday, Amy was assigned to triage in the ER. This day was one of the highest acuity and volume days I have seen here in my last 3 1/2 years. Most of these patients came through triage. Amy vigorously held down the fort while working the triage area. I saw her attend to each patient with the highest focus and care. On this day our patients spanned from dental pain to CAT 1 traumas through our triage door. Most of their workups were performed in triage as there were no beds available. This day had multiple patient holds and EMS bringing in CAT 1 traumas as well as CPR in progress. It takes a truly strong nurse to overcome the adversity being presented in triage on this day. Amy proved as she has in a multitude of situations that she is a strong and knowledgeable asset not just to the ER but to our hospital. It gives me great pride and comfort to know she is part of our ER team.
