I just wanted to write you a note and let you know about the exceptional care I had with Kelly Toner, RN with my stay after my microsdissectomy and formaniotomy. So many great nurses, all so smart, caring, and kind. Kelly who took over during the day was an excellent nurse and her level of caring and communication was exceptional.

For example, checking in on me, telling me the plan of care for the morning, telling me the approximate discharge time, telling me about my visits with PT and OT and what they would be doing, and making sure I had the social support that was going to pick me up and help me get home. All with kind words using the disciplines of nursing that makes us the most trusted profession. It's nursing when it works at its zenith; communicative, kind, thorough, and exceptional. What an amazing culture and team of health care practitioners you have procured.

As nurses, we don’t get the opportunity to see how our care impacted a hospital stay because patients will complain before they compliment. My stay reinforced my baseline for my practice as a nurse. I have always felt that what makes me a good nurse is how much I care about patients mixed in with my technical and clinical skills. Furthermore, it most definitely reinforces my nursing baseline of what a kind word, gesture, presence, listening, and even sometimes a slight touch can do to make someone feel seen, heard, and safe. Kelly made me feel all those things. I am exceptionally grateful!
