Malisa even took time to comb out my long and horribly knotted hair, which hadn’t been combed for days, and braid it for me
From the time I was transferred from Outpatient Recovery to the Inpatient where I began vomiting vehemently before the staff members could get me settled in the bed, she was very focused and attentive on getting me comfortable and putting me on the best possible path to a speedy recovery. This included working with House Physician, who promptly reviewed my situation and ordered the appropriate medications. This focus continued when the following day. She learned my hand had swelled profusely overnight, which she promptly reported to all concerned.

Malisa's swift actions resulted in:

1) The Doctor having one of the nurses loosen my surgical wrap to relieve the pressure.

2) Enlisting one of the surgeons on premises to double-check the composition of the metal plate implanted during my surgery plus 3) check to make sure no further damages had occurred post-surgically. (This was all accomplished roughly 24 hours prior to the first post-op visit by a member of my own Surgeon’s team – saving me considerable pain and worry.)

While I was very happy with the treatment I received from all the Nursing and other staff, she was just a notch above the rest, always ‘going the extra mile’, doing things like opening all the packaging on my meal trays and cutting up my food for me without being asked so I could manage with the use of only one hand. At the conclusion of my stay, she was equally attentive in making sure I was clear on all my post-discharge instructions and prescriptions, and even took time to comb out my long and horribly knotted hair, which hadn’t been combed for days, and braid it for me. For these reasons, I was – and still am – extremely grateful for all her efforts.
