"Mean", like any other nurse, has her own ups and downs. But, she is exceptionally special because, as her immediate superior, I can see how she handles all her patients with genuine care and sincere compassion. We may all have the skills in nursing, but not all Registered Nurses have that kind of innate character.

We recently had a very very difficult relative of a patient, but she was able to pull through with every therapy of the patient while dealing with that difficult relative. She stayed composed and she never lost her compassion and care for the patient. She can see the beauty and reason of what she is doing amidst challenges in her surroundings. I think, just very few can endure that kind of consistent behavior, especially when caught in pressing times. I have seen it from her many times before, with several other patients and their companions as well.

And so, I strongly believe that she really is one suitable candidate for this program, honoring exceptional nurses who are not just experts in nursing skills but also innately and consistently compassionate even when facing the most challenging situations and people.
