My mother stayed in CMMC for a few months, and in that short time we have encountered numerous doctors and nurses. One special nurse stuck out to me, and that was Kailey. She was outstanding in every way possible, and my mom absolutely adored her. On the days Kailey had my mom as one of her patients, I often found myself with a sense of comfort and relief just knowing that she was in Kailey’s care. Having my mom in the hospital while I have my own family and job to tend to is stressful enough, and Kailey eased that stress without any hesitation. Kailey would always go above and beyond in caring for my mother, doing her hair, cracking jokes with her, and just spending time with her making sure she was well taken care of.

I often get tears in my eyes when I think back on my mom’s time in the hospital and remember she had Kailey by her side during those days. Kailey is absolutely everything that a nurse should be, plus much more. I feel like I owe her my life, and all she was just doing was her job! In the future, I hope that on days when she has been stressed to the max and maybe doubting her career path, she can remember my mom and the difference she made in our lives. My mom has ultimately passed away, but I will never forget how amazing Kailey was for our family.
