Sami made all the difference in the delivery of our son. My wife had to push for two hours, was in a ton of pain, and was very scared. Throughout the entirety of the process, Sami exhibited professionalism, kindness, and genuine understanding. I could tell my wife was comforted by her support immediately. Sami was confident and knowledgeable but also took care to really listen to and hear our concerns.

At one point during the delivery, the fetal heartbeat began to drop rapidly. People we had not yet seen, came rushing into the room. Over the chaos of yelling and monitors beeping, Sami remained poised and under control. She comforted my wife and helped her to take deep breaths to get the baby the oxygen he so desperately needed at that moment.

We made it through that scary time, and then another hour of pushing and, finally, my wife gave birth to a beautiful healthy boy. The following night Sami came to visit my wife in her postpartum room to check on her and my son. During the whole birth process of my son, Sami’s knowledge, compassion, and professional expertise made what could have been a terrible experience become one from which I know my wife will always draw strength. She is an outstanding nurse and a beautiful person who deserves this award more than anybody.
