We were so grateful for her support for our mental health in those first few difficult days.
In the devastating haze of our son’s leukemia diagnosis in 2019, Brett transported us from the ER to the oncology floor. She offered words of comfort and support and helped us get settled. She checked in on us a few days later and showed our son how to hook up his IV pole to the patient tricycles so he could have a little freedom and fun. When she showed us the Healing Garden, we all breathed a collective sigh of relief and realized that we were going to be ok. We were so grateful for her support for our mental health in those first few difficult days.
A few months later, our son had a major seizure in clinic. I was in complete panic. When Brett came rushing into the room to help stabilize him, I knew it was going to be ok. We were going to be ok. She cared for our son for the next few hours until he was stable. Brett was calm, steady, knowledgeable, and supportive. Her resolve helped us through the scariest moment of my life and the most stressful period of our son's treatment. I can't thank her enough for her support and care for our son. She is truly amazing.
