The reason I am nominating Nichole is not just for being an excellent nurse, but also for her displays of leadership, willingness to learn, and eagerness to help everyone on the floor. I think the one day I remember is the day Nichole was asked to be charge and have a preceptor with two newer nurses that came to her for questions and I watched her take on all that without question or hesitation. She was 110% available for me when I had questions and managed to handle all calls, glucose checks, help with pumps and deal with aggressive patients all while maintaining a positive attitude. Even at the end of the day, she managed to have every nurse helped out and all questions, and concerns of patients answered. Her delegation skills and ability to easily and effectively communicate with MDs and other ancillary departments are above reproach. I can only hope to be as outstanding as her in my career as a new nurse. P.S. She reminds me to drink water and take a break throughout my day. Who does that? She really is amazing and caring.
