Brenda has so many attributes for our patients that I'm not even sure where to begin. She puts her entire heart and soul into every patient she cares for. If a patient has a birthday, she gets cake and buys a balloon. If a patient has a wedding to go to, she brings them a dress shirt and flowers to wear during a FaceTime wedding. If a patient is depressed or lonely, she will pray and sit and talk with the patient while playing music for them. If a patient is passing away, she will hold their hand and comfort their family. Brenda is a good example of the perfect nurse in every situation. If she feels a patient isn't ready for a safe discharge, she will advocate for them. Her patients are everything to her. She treats them like her own family. If someone has been here for an extended amount of time, she is heading to the store to get them a blanket or stuffed animal for comfort. She stays in touch with families and follows patient progress after discharge. She is amazing. I couldn't ask for a better co-worker. When we as a staff were struggling mentally during COVID, she was always getting us together for an uplifting prayer. She is very inspirational to me as a nurse. She brings out the best nurse in me.
