Dawn was called last week at home when she was not on call. There was a patient that was here after hours and had a port. She graciously offered to come in and de-access the patient’s port so the patient could be on their way sooner. She came in, removed the access, and talked with the patient's mother to calm her and listen to her since the patient had been waiting a long time. Dawn told the mother she would follow up to see how we could make this process better and suggested if they had to come back, an earlier appointment would be better in the meantime. Dawn showed great patient care and what Serve First All In looks like to me. She treats patients with care each and every time and this has not been the first time he/she has gone above and beyond.

We have a patient who comes in every day w/ the cutest hairstyles! Some days it is cute pompoms, others super cute braids, it's always a cute surprise. It's kind of upsetting though because we always have to take her hair creation out to put the treatment mask on her, which messes up her beautiful and fun styles! My coworker and I are not good at braiding hair and one day Dawn decided to take the time to re-braid her hair after the treatment. She ensures the patient has a great experience!

I'd like to thank Dawn for spending extra time to take the absolute best care of a biopsy patient's emotional needs last week. Our patient wasn't concerned about her procedure but she came in quite upset as she is mourning the loss of her husband. Dawn had the most heartwarming and supportive things to say to the patient, it was EXACTLY what she needed to hear. I'm certain the comfort she received from Dawn will carry her through the difficult days ahead.
