The committee received a total of four different nomination letters from Veterans and family members expressing their gratitude for the care that Ms. Upshaw provided during their stay on 6B. Each letter highlighted her upbeat personality, tenacity, and professionalism. A Veteran's stated the following, "During my stay, I was extremely worried that (1) my list of medicines was not entered into the system...(2) I told her it was critical for my summary of health conditions to be given to my primary care provider. Amanda assured me it would be faxed or delivered. Amanda showed me she will do whatever it takes to protect and comfort me." Thank you Amanda for serving as a role model for the nursing profession!
