She saved my life that day and her actions made me hopeful during this scary situation would be ok.
I was scheduled for my second infusion and about 30 minutes into the infusion, I had a bad reaction resulting in a blackout, a serious drop in blood pressure, and a high pulse rate. My husband called for help…many wonderful nurses came to help but Pam took charge of my care. She was careful with me and thoughtful to coordinate the care she thought I needed. She advocated with doctors to make sure I got the best treatment support. She stood beside me for an hour trying to get my blood pressure using various cuffs and machines. Finally, she got a reading and Pam started to feel relief for both of us. My symptoms and vitals improved so much that I was able to finish my infusion at a slower pace. Pam stayed late with me and even took me down in a wheelchair for the ride home. She saved my life that day and her actions made me hopeful during this scary situation would be ok. I learned afterward she spoke to our doctor about the incident and suggested a revised treatment plan. Thank you, Pam!
