My dad was admitted to Monument Health while on vacation. He spent multiple days in the ICU with Matthew as his day nurse. It was a rough time for my dad, but he was really touched by the care and connection he made with Matthew. Matthew made my dad feel dignified during a time that my dad didn’t have full control over his body. He spent time to get to know my dad on a personal level and made sure to keep the family informed on what was happening. Matthew went out of his way to call the clinics back home to help get my dad’s appointments in order for our return. He always made questions feel valid and took time to explain things.

On the day my dad was discharged, he was Matthew’s only patient. Matthew took it upon himself to wheel my dad out, although he could have had someone else do it. My dad expressed numerous times how well cared for he felt. It takes a special person to make patients feel like family.
