I want to take this opportunity to recognize the actions of Adrian LeBron. On Saturday night, he took a report on a very complex patient. The information he heard in that handoff report and his review of the patient's EMR, concerned him. He prioritized going to that patient's bedside, assessed, and very appropriately called a rapid response. His excellent clinical judgment and swift actions facilitated the rapid delivery of critical interventions to that patient. After the rapid response, I thanked him for calling the rapid. He shared with me that this was his first job as an RN. He acted with grace and professionalism beyond what one would expect from someone at this stage of his career. I think it is important to recognize and celebrate moments like this. I want to be sure he appreciated the impact he had on this patient's care, how proud he should be of himself and how thankful I am for nursing professionals like him.
