Stacy is an extraordinary example of what a nurse should strive to be. She not only takes excellent care of her patients, she also makes sure co-workers are taken care of. In the wake of the tragic shooting at an elementary school hundreds of miles away in Uvalde, Texas, Stacy felt led to show compassion to healthcare workers she has never met. She went out of her way to find out that this small town has only one hospital where the victims of the shooting would have been taken. She then reached out to the staff at this hospital to see how many people they had working in their ED that day. Stacy collected money from the rest of the nurses on the floor and arranged breakfast and coffee to be delivered to the staff at the ED where just 24 hours before had experienced such tragedy and loss. Acts of kindness like these are what make the nursing profession one that I am proud to be part of and nurses like Stacy are one in a million!
