Her heart for her patients was obvious! Her empathy and understanding of his special needs eased my mama heart!
While in the process of relocating to the area my son became very sick. Cardinal Glennon was recommended so on our way we went. A has autism and had never been to the hospital and I was a nervous wreck.
Lainey immediately recognized two things. First that my son was very sick. Second, we would need to be moved out of the waiting area as quickly as possible to soothe his anxiety. She escorted us back almost immediately. She also reached out to Child Life and had them in the room within minutes. As the day progressed Lainey continued to care for and advocate for my son. She went above and beyond! Her heart for her patients was obvious! Her empathy and understanding of his special needs eased my mama heart! She saw us through every step and was amazing even though she was not the RN assigned to him. She set the tone for the duration of his stay.
Lainey is a perfect representation of what a nurse should be! She took a case that many would consider difficult and worked through it with grace and compassion. Not to mention that she was able to help in the diagnosis process even as my son could not communicate his needs! There will never be words to express our gratitude for her exemplary care for our very special boy
