Erica is a student who routinely goes above and beyond in her studies and extracurricular activities. She was a part of the OPACT Grant (HRSA Grant - Oregon Primary Care Transformation) studying and learning about Primary Care Nursing. This additional study included seminars, reading research, clinical time, and participation at the American Academy of Ambulatory Care Nursing Conference where she stood up as a student nurse leader representing nursing education in primary care. She engaged national nurse leaders by asking questions and discussing the student nurse in primary care nursing education. Erica is also the President of the La Grande Student Senate, looking to reform the senate after COVID by reimplementing structure to meetings and seeking to meet the needs of the student body in La Grande. Erica is kind, driven, and smart. She sees the needs around her and is able to support her team as they address challenges. This summer, she has been active in talking with senate leadership to prepare for the next school year by ensuring each leadership team member understands their role and gives appropriate support for them to achieve their full potential.
