I want to take a few minutes to give a shout-out to an amazing guy in your department. My stepdad D was a patient in the CCU department. By the time Caleb arrived that evening for his shift D was in the last stages of his life. Caleb came in the room to do an assessment on D and was very patient and explained everything that he was doing. He also explained to us what all medicines D was receiving and what their purposes were although we didn’t ask a lot of questions. Also, D was complaining that he was hot. He was trying to take his gown off and my mom was fanning him as fast as she could. Caleb went out to the nurses' station got a fan brought in an extra table and hooked the fan up in order to make his patient comfortable. Not only did he go above and beyond to make D comfortable but he also went above and beyond to make sure that my mom was taken care of throughout the evening.

D passed that evening and Caleb was right there with my mom and me asking if there was anything we needed. He cleaned D up and straightened him in the bed while I took mom out to the waiting room. Caleb then came and got us and allowed us to stay with D. He said that we could spend as much time as we needed in the room.

I know nurses do not get nearly as much credit for what they do. I want to personally say that Caleb is an amazing person. Not only an amazing nurse but an amazing human with the heart and the compassion for his job. I just want to make sure that Caleb definitely receives the recognition that he deserves and let him know that we appreciate him from the bottom of our hearts.
