I want to nominate Marianne for this award because of her exceptional dedication to student success and well-being. This past year has been hard for me in many ways, but most specifically because of some girls in my class being very unkind. Marianne was quick to notice that I wasn’t being myself and reached out to help me through it all. I was never one to speak up for myself or use my voice, but now, because of her, I have a strong voice of my own. Because of her, I know it is my right to speak up for not only myself, but as a future nurse, I have that same right to speak up for my patients. These past four years I have been working to become an exceptional nurse through this program, and Marianne really helped me to achieve that goal this year. She genuinely cares about her students, no matter who they are. She would drop anything to help in a heartbeat and not think twice about it. Plus, she has Sophie by her side helping her along the way, and how could you not love that? Marianne deserves this award not only for what she has done to shape me but for all the students just like me that she has shaped into exceptional nurses.
