The next morning Scott comes in shortly after 0600 with a Spiderman balloon, blanket, and book for this patient!
Back in June, Scott kindly agreed to be the charge nurse in PCU, as there was not one scheduled for the day shift. Scott typically doesn't work on this unit but graciously came to help. On top of him being charge, he also had to take an assignment and had a couple of patients he also had to care for, along with the charge duties and helping the team. Scott was such a team player that day, he even bought pizza for the staff! One of the patients that he was assigned to care for was "X-man", a young gentleman with Downs syndrome. X-man loved Spiderman, so what does Scott do? The next morning Scott comes in shortly after 0600 with a Spiderman balloon, blanket, and book for this patient! This was such a sweet, thoughtful, and kind gesture, and when the patient woke up that morning, he was so excited to see the balloon and snuggle with his new blanket. Scott went above and beyond that day and it carried over into the next day, just how much he cares for his patients.
