Ms. Jiby chose the pediatric nursing specialty because she is very caring about pediatric patients. She is not dealing with them as they are only her patients but she also treats them as they are her kids. One day during her night duty she received a pediatric patient and when she visit the patient she look very sad and crying and was alone. She start to speak to her to calm her down and let her express her feelings. Ms. Jiby understood that her patient is a student and had an exam the next morning and she can not study in the hospital alone and her mother was at home taking care of her other daughter and she felt that she would not pass the exam. Ms. Jiby started to calm her down, assuring and encouraging her to study. She spent this night duty staying with this patient once she finished her responsibilities with her other assigned patients. The next day Ms. Jiby helped her to be ready for the exam and she did not leave the hospital until the patient went to her exam and she felt confident that she would do well in her exam. She even followed up with the patient's mother to ask about her exam. The mother was very happy and thankful to Ms. Jiby for her support of her daughter. After the patient was discharged from the hospital and came for follow up the mother visited Ms. Jiby in the pediatric department and informed her that her daughter passed her exam because of the support of Ms. Jiby and was very thankful to her.
