Natalie has been the quintessential officer whose leadership, guidance, and expertise reflected admirably upon other nursing officers, and ensured successful administration of the vital program.
Natalie is the Command’s Nurse of the Day Watchbill Coordinator whose superior leadership, superb organization, and keen management upheld the Chief Nursing Officer’s (CNO) mission, vision, and goals for U.S. Naval Hospital Okinawa’s Nursing Directorate. As “position title”, this nurse developed and updated several standard operating procedures, trained and oriented 20+ nursing staff, and organized and administered productive meetings that led to the program’s success.

For example, she created a “Checklist” that provided watch standers with a detailed reference for shift and workload expectations. Additionally, this nurse communicated important updates and significant changes to oncoming staff that prevented lapses in duty. This nurse is assertive, diplomatic, and confident, and she keeps an “open-door” policy that creates a supportive and welcoming environment and allows watch standers to call or message for any concerns or questions. Further, this nurse was a vital resource for staff, and always provided prompt responses to questions via texts, calls, or e-mails. Natalie has been the quintessential officer whose leadership, guidance, and expertise reflected admirably upon other nursing officers, and ensured successful administration of the vital program. This nurse’s management of the program facilitated the safe and timely delivery of care services for patients and nursing staff throughout the hospital. This person is an extraordinary nurse, role-model, aand officer. She is a DAISY Nurse.
