My son wore his costume scrubs and pretended to play doctor with dad and ran off to show Meghan his appreciation of the lovely gift.
The first few words that can best describe nurse Meghan are that she is a complete and dynamic package of a very warm, friendly, kind full of energy, smiley, chippy, very efficient, and a professional young lady who not only makes her parents and department proud but also her patient and their families fall in love with her. I can proudly say this on behalf of my wife too. She is the daughter we always wished for but never had.

The first day in the hospital was rather a shocking and scary day making our tiny world upside down. The one-day hearing about having a heart attack followed by an angiogram and being in line for a triple bypass, imagine all this without getting on a roller coaster ride. Scared from head to toe we were admitted to this unit. 5 minutes in our room and in came energetic Meghan. With a friendly introduction of herself, she comforted my wife and me immediately about the upcoming bypass and the good doctor and his competent team. Meghan's constant comfort did not stop there.

A few hours later when I was in bed with all monitors and my IV lines, my youngest 13-year-old special son came to visit me, he was so scared and in tears and felt his whole world shattered. Meghan noticed this from a distance and came in to cheer him bringing him a present, a pair of scrubs he could wear and pretend to be a doctor taking care of his dad. What a beautiful act of kindness she showed. The next day our little one felt better seeing dad in a chair smiling and talking to him. My son wore his costume scrubs and pretended to play doctor with dad and ran off to show Meghan his appreciation of the lovely gift.

Meghan was patient and appreciative of every task that I had to do to improve my health. Seeing her brightened my day completely and I feel privileged to be under her care once more after my surgery when I was transferred to another room. Checking on me on days when I was not her patient showed compassion and sincerity towards her profession.

Note: This is Meghan's 2nd DAISY Award!
