Kathi served as my dayshift nurse in CVICU after my heart bypass and six (6) day coma. She consistently demonstrated expertise and caring for me and my family through her words and her patience. Kathi learned about my racing event pin collection and my interest in aviation. She arranged for the helicopter flight crew to come to my room and give me one of their pins. This is compassion and care above normal. She also demonstrates excellent clinical skills and professionalism. Kathi noticed my cough was worse and called the doctor at night. Within minutes, a pulmonologist arrived to confirm pneumonia. Kathi’s action showed expertise and professionalism.
