Seth really connected with M on a personal level, treating both of us with genuine respect.
I took my 97-year-old neighbor, M, to get his leg checked at the ED. It was very busy so when we finally got to see an ED doctor, it was after 12:00 a.m. By that time both of us were worn out. It was in the examination room that we met the neatest nurse. His name was Seth. What a positive difference he made for us! Seth was extremely professional as he went about his job. He was so careful and kind as he put in the IV. It was difficult, but Seth explained everything he was doing and why. I could see M physically relax. Seth’s low-key, upbeat demeanor really helped M get through the whole ordeal. He was treated as a person not just a number in a bed. Seth really connected with M on a personal level, treating both of us with genuine respect. When he found out that M’s bad leg was the one he got shot in during WWII at the Battle of the Bulge, Seth stopped what he was doing, looked M in the eyes, and thanked him for his great sacrifice to our country. It left M and me with tears in our eyes. Summing it up, Seth is a great representative for your hospital and a real shining star!
