Even with a mask, you can see the caring and positivity in Blair's eyes.
My husband was hospitalized for 10 days before this current stay with pneumonia on the 2nd floor. Antibiotics were not working so back to the hospital he goes for a bronchoscopy. A straight admission on a Friday afternoon for the procedure to be done on Saturday. Hopefully, a different antibiotic and back home. Now, over 2 weeks later and he is still here. How do you survive this?

Besides prayer, it takes a caregiver that makes you feel like you are somebody. You will get better. It takes a caring smile, and a knowledgeable, professional nurse. Even with a mask, you can see the caring and positivity in Blair's eyes. She is upbeat, friendly, and wants to know every time she comes into your room, “What can I do for you? Do you need anything?” She explains what medicine she is giving you. How do we thank someone who is your lifeline when you are laying in bed, feeling very insecure, and not knowing what is happening in your body?

Blair has gone above and beyond as a nurse. Even on the days she was not assigned to my husband’s room, she would stick her head in the door and say, “Hi, how are you doing?” Each day at the end of her shift, she would come and ask if he needed anything before she left. Knowing someone actually cares about your well-being has made this hospital stay much more tolerable because of Blair.
