Andrew formed a very sweet relationship with the patient who was struggling to get listed for lungs while waiting/recovering on venovenous ECMO. Andrew recognized the patient’s love of wrestling and managed to use some connections to get famous wrestler Booker T. to make a video for the patient, encouraging him to stay motivated on his journey. Unfortunately, the patient took a turn, and the family planned to withdraw care. I took care of the patient, and the family could not stop talking about Andrew and the video they had arranged. They said that had given him some hope in this process and brought him joy. I think Andrew should be recognized for going out of his way outside of work to make a patient very happy.
