This nurse is an angel that works on this unit. We call her "Angelina". When she walks on the floor you know the day or night is going to be better. Her attitude is infectious and seeing her face immediately can help to lift all of the team members' spirits. She is the most giving person I know. If I need her to work a day shift or a night shift, she will try to rearrange whatever is going on to make it happen. I am not sure what I would do without her since she made my job so much easier. She comes in and does audits and fit test employees and also educate if needed. She is the perfect example of an exceptional nurse. When I round on patients, she is consistently mentioned for her care, concern and dedication to the patients. Her critical thinking skills are what every nurse strives to have during their career. I have never seen anyone more meticulous with regard to skin care. She makes sure the patients are clean, cared for, and well-monitored while striving to prevent breakdown.

One night, she came in to help the team and a patient was appearing to be anxious and uncomfortable. She pulled someone in to help her bathe this patient knowing this would make them more comfortable and rest better. She made sure he had the proper lotion for his skin, his bedding was clean and comfortable, and then tucked him in for a good night's sleep. I know these are the things expected of staff, but when you consistently go above and beyond and give more than you ever ask for in return, then that is truly what an angel does.

I have used this example many times over the years while working here, but when we walk through these doors each day, we are standing on holy ground. If you know this nurse or are able to meet her for the first time, you would immediately know that by her actions, she feels the same way. Like the song says, "this is a place where love abounds" and this nurse gives out so much love. I just want her to feel the love that everyone has for her.
