Allison was such an attentive and caring nurse. Although my father came to the facility under a DNR, the EMS was not given this information by hospice. Although Allison's ICU job is normally much different, she was comforting and helpful. She anticipated the family's needs and sought additional help from others (i.e. hospice) when needed. Upon his death, she called and gave us all a miniature view of his heartbeat in an empty medicine vial. It could even be a Christmas tree ornament. I thought that was extra special and was something she did not have to do and yet gave us comfort.
