Aislynn did more for me and my family than just being a nurse. She was a true caregiver.
Aislynn was my first nurse when I arrived at Gainesville. I was expecting pneumonia and an inhaler maybe antibiotics 12 hours earlier but now it was my Mitral Valve and surgery either to repair or replace it. We told her what had happened and where we were at. She made sure we had everything we needed and was comfortable as possible. She could tell I was very uneasy about what was about to come. She explained everything to me that was going to happen and assured me everything would be great and that I had one of the best heart surgeons in the state and the country. She was our nurse for a couple of nights on that side.
The next day they moved me to the critical care side which I was nervous about and low and behold she told my story to the RN in critical care (G) who also happened to be her boyfriend. She told him to look in on me. Well, he was actually my nurse that night I was transferred. Without surprise, he was super nice just like she was.
Aislynn came by to check on me the next morning to make sure I was ok and not stressing. She did that every day that she worked. She was off the day of my surgery and so was G but G had to come in to pull tubes I believe he said but he made sure to come by my room and see me before surgery and said Aislynn wanted him to be sure to tell me she was thinking about me and everything would be ok.
After surgery, I was in the ICU recovery room for one night. The next night I went back to Aislynn's side out of critical care and there she was my nurse. Again she went above and beyond to make sure I as well as my wife was comfortable. She has an amazing personality. She took off my first bandages and stuff from the surgery. She took her time so it would not hurt me. G was off but later that day he came by anyway just to see how I was doing. That just amazed me.
Aislynn did more for me and my family than just being a nurse. She was a true caregiver. She did everything in her power to ease our minds and assure us everything was going to be ok. She is an amazing nurse always there when I pushed the buzzer or when she heard I was having a test to explain it all to me. North East Georgia Medical Center is very lucky to have her. Also so was I. Thank you and thank Aislynn also.
