I was a patient in the OB Department recently, and I want to commend the whole department for their role in making my husband and I feel safe and cared for while we were there to give birth to our daughter. Everyone was amazing, from our labor nurses to lactation. I would however like to give special recognition to one nurse in particular. Brittney Van Boxtel was my night nurse who was so attentive and helpful. On my second night of no sleep and painful breastfeeding, I had a breakdown and just started sobbing at 4 in the morning. I will never forget how calming, supportive, and knowledgeable about breastfeeding Brittney was to me at that moment in particular. My wish is that every new mom could have Brittney as their night nurse. She is a shining star in your hospital, and we believe Brittney is a perfect example of a DAISY Nurse.
