Grace emulates warmth, humility, and compassion as she serves others and always expresses an appreciation for their hard work and efforts.
We had a very difficult, challenging, and emotional event recently, on Labor and Delivery. I would like to thank Grace Ibe for taking her personal time and coming in to assist me with supporting my team and the family involved. Since her start at KP San Diego, Grace has demonstrated her commitment to our members, staff, and to the organization. Her compassionate and caring demeanor emphasizes treating everyone with dignity and respect. Her selflessness on Sunday was an example of Grace being Grace. I say this with a big smile. She not only supported the family and staff, but she was also my partner and my support as we rounded on Labor and Delivery, ICU, and 2E.
Her passion for nursing shines through every day. Grace emulates warmth, humility, and compassion as she serves others and always expresses an appreciation for their hard work and efforts. I was able to witness Grace practicing what she preaches during a very sad, somber, and unfortunate situation. During our rounding with the family and the patient’s husband, Grace connected with them and went above and beyond. She provided them comfort when speaking with them in their native dialect. During this unbelievable time of grief and despair, she remained supportive, calm, and positive. She stayed with me as we prayed with the family, their son, and the patient. This is a true example of providing empathic, sympathetic, and compassionate care. Grace’s mission to provide compassionate, safe, and exceptional quality care is her passion. She is a true humanitarian.
I know I am not alone when I say this, but she has my utmost respect, and I am confident to say also by those with whom she comes in contact every day. She is also an exemplary role model to me, my MCH Team, and of course Kaiser San Diego. The combination of her high ethical standards and vast experience enables her to be an excellent resource to nursing leadership, providers, and nursing staff. The energy and enthusiasm that she projects every day are remarkable. It could be the most challenging, difficult, and gloomy day but somehow Grace brings in the SUNSHINE.
Thank you, Grace, for all that you do for KP, our members, staff, providers, me, and my MCH Team. For this and a multitude of many other reasons, I believe Grace is a true DAISY Nurse Leader.
