Her compassion for this patient was inspiring and amazing to see with a patient who was very difficult.
My mother was transferred to this nurse's unit today from another floor. My mom really wanted to get a shower to feel clean. The floor was short staffed and it was during shift change. Not only was this nurse not my mom’s nurse but she was also going off her shift. She had been talking to me in the hallway briefly upon our move to the floor and had heard me mention mom’s desire to get cleaned up. She stayed after her shift tonight to help out specifically to make sure my mom got her warm shower before bedtime. My mom’s stay has been full of kind, caring, top-notch nurses and support staff. It’s hard to limit my nomination to only one, but this nurse’s sweet, kind effort in going out of her way for my mother moved me to tears. She left us with my mother tucked into bed refreshed, warm and cozy; and me with the kindest hug and encouraging smile. I don’t know which of us (mom or me) she helped more. She made the end of a long and emotionally exhausting day a good one. Thank you, you are truly a credit to your profession.

A patient on a clinical hold was admitted to another floor. A provider recognized she had a positive report with the patient and spoke with her regarding the patient and her combative & verbal aggressive behavior. The provider wanted the patient moved to the floor for care due to the patient outbursts. She went down to the other unit to get the patient calmed and bathed prior to bringing her up. Her compassion for this patient was inspiring and amazing to see with a patient who was very difficult. Thank you for treating this patient just like you would any other patient.

She is always so driven and the hardest worker I know. She goes above and beyond for her patients and we can see how compassionate she is. She is an amazing team player and willing to help even if she is busy herself. Very thankful for her.
