Nicole was my nurse for the majority of my stay. In a time when I only could think about pain and that I really didn’t want to be in the hospital, her selflessness and compassion stood out. She made me feel safe to share my pain and needs without judgment. I never felt like I was a bother to her when asking questions. She listened to me and offered her support no matter how big or small my request was. She was the advocate I needed during my stay. Her kind demeanor exceeded my expectations. I don’t think my stay would have been a positive one without her. She shared with me that since she was a child, she wanted to work at Nebraska Medicine. It’s wonderful to hear that staff who are assigned to take care of you at your worst have such pride in their work and place of hire. It gives the patient such profound confidence in where they’ve chosen to receive their care. Thank you, Nicole!
