She talked to him about the shelter more than required. She truly understood the situation and did everything she could.
My brother was admitted to Sr. John Moross after an assault requiring an ORIF on his jaw. Sara was so sweet, caring, and exceptional. My brother came in as a homeless drug abuser, and she did not treat him any differently than any other patient. She kept me informed by making sure he had things for when he was discharged. She spoke to him as a human, not a drug addict, and spoke to me with compassion. She was the first to look after him, who was pleasant, caring and the best example of what a nurse is. She even paged the doctor, waited for the answer, and called me before she left (she was to be off at 7p, and called after 7p). Sara helped me strategize what to say/how to help my brother consider a shelter and treatment facility. She talked to him about the shelter more than required. She truly understood the situation and did everything she could. When I asked her if we could get neurology to round because of my brother's double vision, she worked on it. She was interested in his history so she could better care for him. In the 14 years we have been dealing with my brother in and out of hospitals due to his addiction, she is the very first nurse to ever show such compassion. She is truly a DAISY Nurse.
