She exemplifies teamwork; she is always the first to jump in and help a nurse whether it be with a clinical task or offering emotional support during a difficult situation.
Natalie has been a nurse on Pediatric Oncology for over 14 years. In her years on the unit, she has precepted numerous new nurses, ensuring her vast knowledge, along with love and passion for this special patient population is passed on to the newer generation of nurses. She puts the needs of the unit and patients first, often picking up extra shifts to ensure the unit is safely staffed and newer nurses have a resource to ask questions as well as feel supported throughout their shift. She exemplifies teamwork; she is always the first to jump in and help a nurse whether it be with a clinical task or offering emotional support during a difficult situation.

We wanted to share some direct quotes from Natalie’s co-workers to show the impact that she has on all of us. It should be known that she is a breath of fresh air on the unit. She is truly the best. As a newer nurse, she provides constructive education in an open and approachable manner. She always comes to my rescue. She really should wear a cape. Her knowledge of pediatric oncology is invaluable. She will take not only her full patient assignment but still take time to make herself available to assist all of us and answer any questions we may have. She’s my work mom. As a day shift nurse, if Natalie was coming in that night, I always knew she would go above and beyond for my patients and provide them with the best care. She is known for always having a positive attitude, being compassionate and caring which are some of the many reasons she is loved by all of the patients. She has been a preceptor to many new staff, including myself. She knows everything about peds oncology and is always happy to teach us everything she knows without making us feel silly for asking. She makes sure to pull us aside if there are learning opportunities that can be beneficial to us. She is the ultimate role model for us.
