Daniel was on a weekend call and called a patient to make a visit to teach IV therapy. Upon calling, the patient explained that it was very hot in the home due to the air conditioning being broken. Daniel explained that he would make the visit regardless and continued to the home. When he arrived at the home, he discovered that the air conditioning unit was frozen and the batteries to the remote for the unit were missing. He then began to open the unit so that it could thaw and went to purchase new batteries for the remote. Before he left the patient's home he had restored the air conditioning to working order. Daniel went above and beyond to assist the patient in a time of need. Due to his diligence in working on the unit the patient was able to be comfortable when temperatures were soaring into the high 90s.
