Our family would like to recognize the excellent clinical and compassionate care by the entire team at Banner Heart Hospital CPCU, especially Annie, the day shift nurse who was caring for our mother. Annie was there when dad gave the doctors permission to transition our mother to comfort care. I'll never forget how Annie gently guided dad from the hallway back to Mom's room. Dad was sobbing, and tears fell down Annie's cheeks as she walked him back into the room where his wife of 69 years lay dying. Annie shed more tears than family members as many of us flew in from multiple states to hold our mother's hand, say prayers, and share our love. Annie made sure to give us space and peace, but she also checked on all of us regularly to offer whatever we needed, as well as make sure that Mom was not in pain. Annie's quiet tears and calming demeanor helped us all feel so comforted. As difficult as this was, seeing Annie's concern for our family go far beyond the medical aspects made a big difference. Thank you, Annie, for comforting our family during a very difficult time.
